Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of one of our recent graduates. Dalton was a bright light in our community—his kindness, energy, and spirit touched many lives. Our hearts are with the Robison family during this very difficult time, and we extend our deepest sympathies to them.

Today, our school has welcomed the Region 16 Crisis Response Team to provide additional support as our students and staff process this loss. The presence of this team allows us to create a safe and supportive environment where students can express their feelings, ask questions, and begin working through their emotions in a healthy way.

The Crisis Response Team is trained to help children and adolescents cope with difficult events. They were available to meet with students individually and in groups, offering comfort, guidance, and resources. Teachers and staff also received support so they can better assist students in the days ahead.

We recognize that children may respond to crises in different ways. Some may want to talk about their feelings, while others may be quieter or more withdrawn. Both reactions are normal. As parents, you play a crucial role in helping your child navigate these emotions, and we are making sure you are aware of some resources that you might find helpful. The links to the resources are below.

Most importantly, if you notice changes in your child’s behavior—such as difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, withdrawal from friends or activities, or increased emotional sensitivity—please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to work with families to ensure that every child feels supported.

Thank you for your partnership as we care for the well-being of our students and honor Dalton’s memory.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Megan Robertson
