Childhood 2.0

This evening Follett ISD welcomed Kayla Floyd to share astonishing information with parents in our community about the threats social media poses to our youth.  Since the induction of social media, the rate of suicide in youth has increased by 56%, they struggle more with interpersonal relationships, and are at risk of cyberbullying, which leads to mental health issues.  We would like to open up this opportunity again because we believe how drastic, powerful, and necessary it is to have this information.

Our students have immense power at their fingertips.  We gained a lot of information about the risks social media presents to our youth, how prevalent it is in this area, warning signs, and safety tips.  Along with Bullying Prevention information, I will present some information about the risks of Social Media and resources that can be utilized to keep your children safe.
